That would rather be strange.Two things I recommend:defragment your C: drivecheck your startup items; Startup Inspector is very good in showing, advising, and disabling useless startup itemsI have about 50% of all my default startup items disabled, and XP boots quite fast. My computer takes about one minute and forty seconds to start up fully. This includes the time it takes to download the daily AV updates for Nod 32.
