avillafan.com Posted July 11, 2007 Report Share Posted July 11, 2007 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------I had a new laptop for christmas and im very happy and wouldnt have any complaints about it one little bit. Well so i thought. Today i was looking through my laptop to notise That some weird folders are appearing on my c drive. They cannot be deleted - well i cant delete them - ive even tried to get rid of them in safe mode.Does anyone know what they are? And how i can get rid of them?Here is a print screen image of what i mean - ive circled just some of the folders.Somebody told me that its something to do with windows updates. If you look at the folder details, what dates were they created? Did you install anything on these dates?Normally these uninstallers go into the %WINDIR% folder; can you check what your %WINDIR% folder shows? Scarecrow Man Posted July 13, 2007 Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 Chances are, you do not want to delete them. As pat suggests, there are probably some sort of backup installer file, or update files. Most likely there from a Windows update, or an installation using Microsoft Installer.
