pawz
hello folks A few weeks back I was looking for digital wallpaper, and on a particularly good site there were a number of links to other equally good sites. I browsed around them, and then noticed that one site was offering widgets for free download. I fancied the glass clock and the weather widget. There were others - system state indicator, calendar, but the first two are what I went for, and I loved 'em. Really classy. Then, other day, I discovered I had picked up a virus, which spreads by infecting all the exe's, and, to cut the story short, I reformatted the drive to deal with it, so I lost my cool widgets. I have looked and looked but, although there are a couple of very similar ones, one seems to be for Macs, and the other is an Opera one, and when I tried to download that, too much else came with it, which put me off. I then tried to download one from the BBC but couldn't work out how to set it up, the Firefox one doesn't give the graphics I want, didn't like all the extra stuff with the Yahoo one and another I downloaded from ZNet came with download.small attached - so that went straight in the bin.Are there any others that you can recommend please? Or any safe download sites you can point me to please?
catgate
The first thing to do is download McAfee Site Advisor. It will give you much help in avoiding sites which want to load your machine with dross and crap.

I have downloaded and installed the Yahoo widgets now. I can hide the docking bar and get rid of those I don't want, so I guess that will do.
