gasnmyveins Posted July 15, 2007 Report Share Posted July 15, 2007 I'm trying to install Xp onto a 320 gig drive in NTSF. I have a 98 cd which should allow me to use the upgrade disc. Rather than install 98 and then install XP over it, I used XP to format the drive. When it asked for confirmation, I put in the 98 cd. That part seemed to work. THe problem is the next step. After it reboots, it says it will check my hardware. The screen goes blank, I can hear the cd spinning for about 1 minute and then spin down. Nothing more ever happens. I've let it sit for hours.
