coolcy Posted July 19, 2007 Report Share Posted July 19, 2007 Hi, i have recently updated my domain of around 30 PCs running Windows XP, from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 Server, i have imported all the sever settings from 2000 to 2003.Now the problem is that the network access from 1 PC to another has become very slow, PC's on the same domain when entering are prompting for username & password. Some PC are connecting with each other (but very slow) and some are not.We are using DHCP and primary DNS ip is the local DNS server ip, and the DNS server is also properly configured.RegardsCy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you login to the server, does it appear sluggish as well? If so, then the server may be overloaded (is it the same hardware that operated the 2000 server previously?).Does it have SP2 applied? I've heard that SP2 improves some performance aspects.Is the HD heavily fragmented? Try if defragmenting helps improve.This thread should probably be moved to the Networking section of this forum.
