HAL9000 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Share Posted July 20, 2007 Hi, I am running Vista Home Premium:Lately, whenever I send an E-Mail using Outlook Express 2003 (11.5608.5606) I get an error message saying that "fxsext23.dll cannot be installed or loaded" and that I should use the "diagnose and repair" option. I have done that many times, and I still get the same message. I have also downloaded "fxsext32.dll" from the 'net and put it into the folder it's supposed to be in (C:\Windows32...)The E-mail still sends and arrives properly, but I can't get rid of the annoying message. Is there an update or something I can download to fix this???About the update - i haven't found anything on microsoft.But have you ran microsoft update, and office update either locally or throught www.microsoft.com ?? Only you could know how you managed to do so. Outlook did not dothis all by itselfVista Update just installed an Outlook 2003 update on May 9th, 2007 on myVista Home Premium system. The error msg showed up after this update. I didnot go into Outlook and activate FaxExtensions. You can either fix it byfollowing the above or go into your Add/Remove Programs and uninstall theOutlook update (not recommended). This is one of the most frustrating andugliest Outlook issues I have ever seen. Finding the Add-In Manager withinOutlook 2003 wasn't the easiest task I have ever accomplished. Making ahole-in-one at a golf course would have been easier.... I'm surprised byreviewing posts made by MVP-Outlook "experts", like Russ Valentine, the fixabove wasn't mentioned as THE fix for this error msg. At least Russ knew itrevolved around a Fax add-in.
