Does anyone use Nero

Recommended Posts

hi, Does anyone use Nero Burning ROM on Vista home? Its my favorite but haven't used it in a while until now. I wanted to burn an ISO but using Knoppix live CD so i downloaded it and burned it but it wouldnt boot and it was one of them files where you need something to open it. Am i doing something wrong or i didnt download from the right mirror or i didnt download the right ISO file? I burned it as the first option ISO CDROM.

I know i am burning the right way. It may have been in a while i haven't burned but i still didn't forget how. 3 CD's i went through and all have failed. Maybe Nero was working just downloaded the wrong ISO but i highly doubt that. The ISO i downloaded is called knoppix_v5.1.ocd-2006-12-30-en.iso

You need to have Nero Version 7.7.5.1 - the minimum release for Vista compatibility

ok but i even tried burning using DP. It burned good yes it did. My BIOS is set off off CD. but it won't boot into the CD. I want to start booting into ISO's i make but it's not happening anytime soon. My other CD boots fine but i have that for a while but i cant any more boot what i download.

Is your downloaded image possibly corrupt ?

The md5 check for it should be 6546a003ab532b9c0b6c142b44cf5722

KNOPPIX_V5.1.0CD-2006-12-30-EN.iso

from http://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/knoppix/KNO...06-12-30-EN.iso

Is it possible i am not burning the right one? Its bringing two files to my desktop. one is just a .iso like i said above and the other is .iso.part

It sounds as if it may not have finished downloading ? - leaving the .part ?

What is the file size, it should be 698MB

oh all the other times it was finished cause in mozilla download it gives me a message say download is complete but when first downloading it there are two files

What size was the .iso file you have downloaded and tried to burn ?

It is possible that your new burner is faulty ?

Did you select the CD writer rather than the DVD writer in the Nero burning dropdown box ?
