Load Balancing Question

Ok, I have an AMD 64x2. If I am running an app which is maxing out

one core, is there any way at the windows level to tell it to use the

other core to "help out" (for a lack of better words)?

One example is MAME, it's maxing out one core, while the other core is

virtually going unused, anyway or any applications that might do this?

Interesting question, I must look for more info myself on this as I too have a 4.4 dual AMD CPU ticking over in my system. I remember reading an article in anandtech IT news/reviews about a year back where you can force both processors to share the load in a fast moving game but not having dual core at the time I didn't bookmark it for future reference.

Not sure how mine share out the workload, but this afternoon I had my ink jet plus laser printer running at the same time printing out a batch of birthday cards, plus Publisher open to work on a newsletter, several sites/forums open looking for artwork. Camera was USB connected and uploading to photoshop and I had one of my external drives USB connected to search for back issues of the newsletters, a DVD disk in one of the drives also searching for clipart. At times, all applications appeared to be running, other times only some of them, which ones depended on what I was paying attention to at the time but my machine didn't even break into a sweat. A decent twin SL video card also helps out in situations like this, especially if using the camera and photoshop.
