Jeff4747
Hi everyone. Just a quick question. I'm a fairly competent computer user and have never had this problem before. I have these video files that are in avi format that I can't play on my laptop but can play on my desktop computer. It doesn't matter what video player I use. My first thought was that there was a codec or decoder or something I needed to get it to run on my laptop but it seems like I've downloaded hundreds of different codecs, etc., and absolutely nothing works. I don't understand. Thanks for any help/advice you can give!
-pops-
Strange! AVI is one of the standard Windows formats.Have you tried downloading the K-lite codec pack click here. There should be just about every A/V codec you could possibly want.
-pops-
Just a thought, is the file in DivX format? Windows tells you this is AVI when in fact it is a variant of that system.
Jeff4747
About the file type, I'm not sure if it's DivX or not - it doesn't say. But either way, that download you asked me to try worked. Thanks very much! There must have been something I was missing :)
