trackrat
I have a Canon LIDE 50 which I brought new about 2 years ago.Just lately it will scan anything between 1 & 5 documents, and then part of the way through the next scan it just stops, this can be anything from 4% to 86% complete. As I do not now much about the way scanners work can anyone give me any suggestions as to if it is software or the scanner. This happens on both my computers which are running XP Home. -pops-
A similar problem I've seen with a Bear Paw scanner was caused by some misalignment of the tracks that carry the lamps/detector. A repair would have cost more then the scanner cost in the first place so it went into the bin.
trackrat
I have just tried it out on a Linux rig and it did 25 scans without a problem so I can only conclude that it must be a software problem.Funny that Xsane can provide drivers that work but Canons drivers seem to have a bug in them..
