Eddanitor
I'm sure this is a basic problem. I'm operating XP, and for some reason I can no longer get sound (either PC noises or music/video audio). When I bring up sound devices for volume and such, all the options are greyed out.Is there a good audio repair tool anyone can recommend for XP, or do I need to download a codec or driver?Would appreciate it if someone could help. It's driving me nuts.Ed.
Scarecrow Man
Most likely a driver problem. Have you recently installed any new hardware? You may have a resource conflict.
-pops-
With the options greyed out, it suggests the sound card drivers may be corrupt (or absent). Try reinstalling the drivers.
