hello everyone,

can anyone help? pls - something weird just ahppened to me! - I believe i might have entered my own password wrongly more than three times and since I was in hurry i didnt pay attention to the screen but went on typing then the right password paying more attention - I'm not sure of this, again cos i was rushing things up, but i think a different small login window appeared, in this process of typing wrong passwords, and I quickly pressed 'enter'. After this suddenly my own password did not work anymore, even typing it 100% correctly; it looks like now i can just login into my account with just a smple <ok> or 'enter' - What happened to my password? has my account being disabled by some weird microsoft hidden safety options? How come can i now login just by simply hitting 'enter'? how do i restore it?

many thanx for your help!

p.s.: i run a Windows 2004 Server, with no other user's accounts. just Administrator (me)

cannot give out this information.

forum rules.

i thought this was a forun/chat room to help with some basic stuff! I'm not a hacker or a terrorist and I dont believe that some basic info on how to restore a blocked account could harm anyone in any ways! beside, I bet that I can probably find such info on any PC magazine, so i still dont understand how and why this is such HOT info!

never mind!

thanx anyway!

p.s.: now i remember why long time ago i switched to linux! :censored:

You should never run as Administrator. You can make another Administrator account if you would like, but the Administrator account prevents things like this.

Log into Administrator

start > run > control userpasswords2

select a user and click "reset password"

This allows you to reset anyones password, but it cannot work for yourself nor can we provide links to accessing the administrator password.
