AlanHo
I noticed this behaviour some time ago.Generally - when Vista search finds a deleted file it will offer to restore it if it is still residing in the Recycle bin.If it has already been deleted from the recycle bin you get a message that the link is to a deleted file and you are asked whether you wish to remove the link. If you click on the button to remove the link the file is removed from the search data base and will not be found in subsequent searches.I do not know of any way to automatically remove deleted files from the search data base index but would be interested to learn if this is indeed possible. If it is a major problem on a machine where lots of files are deleted regularly I suppose you could resort to deleting the search index and asking Vista to re-index your files all over again. Definitely not worth the bother in my case.
