Marcel Posted October 30, 2007 Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 hii just recently reformatted my computer last week and now my laptop shuts off for no reason randomly, it happens when i'm playing a game every time, or watching some media on the internet, or just today i was making a clip on windows movie maker and tried to save it when it was done, and when it got to 85%, the computer shut off, it happened twice in a row. is this a virus or do you think there could've been a problem somewhere when i recovered the computer? thanks in advance for your help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Check both Application and System for red-marked error entries around the time when it happened. Double-click on the error(s), then report the information here. Check that the fans are working properly.There is likely to be a program in the computer that automatically reads temperatures of the CPU and possibly other parts. Open that and check on it while your computer is working hard.Agreed... Try checking your BIOS, if it's one of the never versions it will show temp of the CPU and FAN speeds.
