spaesee Posted November 11, 2007 Report Share Posted November 11, 2007 Hi guys, i have a strange problem with the windows explorer. every time i click on a non-C drive (all the logical partitions), the explorer fails to open the drive but instead throws up a "Access is denied" error message!! I have observed that when i right click on the drive icon, i am getting a new option "open(0)" instead of the usual "open" option. i guess this is the problem since i am not getting the same on the C drive...although one of the options is this strange "open(0)" the regular "open" is also available for the other drives and on clicking the same the behavior is normal, opens up the contents i.e., its terribly annoying to every time open the logical drive by first right clicking and then selecting the "open" option...please lemme know a solution for the same...cheers,Spaesee Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dencandy Posted November 12, 2007 Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 That's wierd Spaesee! Seems like your drives are all being treated as protected files, as if they are on a network. Have you been trying to set up a network, or restricting access to certain files? Try a System Restore to before when this happened. Let us know what the result is. spaesee Posted November 12, 2007 Author Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 actually i got my machine upgraded only recently and it has been like this ever since i got XP installed on it. I used to have an AMD based machine earlier, on which everything was working alrite. Things are like this from start, so i am stuck since then...
