System Restore Problem

Hi

I had to do system restore using the 307543 article at Microsoft. This worked ok and the system is now back up and usable but when I go to use the System Restore in the Accessories I'm faced with a white dialog box. I've logged into both normal mode and safe mode with the same results.

What do I need to do to finish the restore?

Hello Savak. This nightmare happened to me some years ago also when I was going through the tortuous routine of uninstalling Norton Anti-virus after it began malfunctioning. There were other blank dialog boxes and menus as well.

Basically, some of your Microsoft scripts have been disabled or uninstalled, but I can't remember the precise details over how I re-installed them. But I do remember I got the answer from the Microsoft Technical Support website. So navigate your way there and start putting some simple questions into their search box. You could start with something like "Reinstalling Scripts".

You have my sympathy! Let us know how you get on please. Feedback is very helpful for other Forum members.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307543 does not describe how to do a System Restore. How did you do it?

Sorry guys :(

Typed the wrong number should have been 307545

To restore the blank dialog boxes once the system was up and running again I used article 831430 and allowed me to select the date to restore to.

And all works well.

Sorry for any confusion.

On a side issue I had an internal Zip 100 drive installed that has now been removed but some entries still appear in the registry for Iomega ( source of my problems!). Is there any way to SAFELY remove all references to Iomega?
