doug Posted November 22, 2007 Report Share Posted November 22, 2007 The 2 Prawns Chapter 4These 2 Prawns had been great friends until Paul got bored with life and wished for something else. His Prawn Fairy Godmother granted him 3 wishes. His first wish was to be a Great White Shark. At first he thought life was great as he cruised the oceans in all his awesome majesty. After a while he became very lonely and wished to be something else. His Fairy Godmother turned up and reminded him that he still had 2 wishes left. He decided that he wanted to be a herring. His Prawn Fairy Godmother waved her wand and whoosh there was this flash of watery blue lightening – which is very rare to occur under water. Read on:-Paul found that he had indeed turned into a herring. “Whey hey, I’m off” and with that he sped off into the distance.After a while he spotted a shoal of herring in the distance so he swam over to join them. Well they welcomed him with open fins. He was introduced to all and sundry. He recounted his life story and was promptly signed up as a member of the shoal.He went through all the swimming classes so he could merge in with the wonderful watery ballet dances swirling and twirling en mass. Life was grand.One day, however, the shoal became very nervous. “What’s happening?” he asked. “Keep your eyes open and your wits about you. There’s one of those herring fleets nearby.”Whoosh, a trawl net went by scooping masses of his friends inside. Then another net passed. Paul was spinning out of control, then another net. This kept on until there was only Paul left. He was bereft. All his new found friends gone, vanished. He sobbed and cried out in a loud voice “Oh I wish”…… and there she was again, his Prawn Fairy Godmother.“You still have one wish left Paul.” She said.“So I have. I’ve been a Great White Shark but that’s a lonely existence. I’ve been a herring and that’s dangerous. I wish to go back to what I was first,” he said.“You may if that’s what you really want.”“Oh yes I wish to go back to being a Prawn.
