You may well find now that you have done some cleaning that everything is OK.

If you feel confident about looking inside your computer, there is no need to take it to a specialist - it is quite easy to see if things are working.

Don't use a brush with artificial bristles, only pure bristle. Hold the side of the metal case if you touch anything. You can get a can of compressed air from a computer shop, or from an on line store, and use this to blow dust away from sensitive parts, while holding a vacuum cleaner nearby to suck up the loosened dust. :D
