Are all the fans, especially the heatsink fan, working correctly?Is there any blockages or dust build up on the vents, fan blades or heatsink fins? rudolph Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2007 There was a lot of dust and fluffy debris on the vents and I have cleaned them. How do I check to see if all the fans are working correctly? Do I need to take the unit to a dedicated computer maintenance shop?Thank you for your prompt initial reply. -pops- Posted December 22, 2007 Report Share Posted December 22, 2007 You may well find now that you have done some cleaning that everything is OK.If you feel confident about looking inside your computer, there is no need to take it to a specialist - it is quite easy to see if things are working. andsome Posted December 23, 2007 Report Share Posted December 23, 2007 Don't use a brush with artificial bristles, only pure bristle. Hold the side of the metal case if you touch anything. You can get a can of compressed air from a computer shop, or from an on line store, and use this to blow dust away from sensitive parts, while holding a vacuum cleaner nearby to suck up the loosened dust. :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
