Unknown Program

Need help here please. I have an issue with an unknown program that has disabled my task manager. It popped up on the computer a few days ago and my husband clicked on it. It is called WinPerformance. I have gone into the ad/remove section and when I click on the change/remove program it goes to a website to download this program. I then went back to the add/remove (in the control panel) and clicked on change/remove again and it appeared to have removed the program. If I try to Ctrl/Alt/Del to open my task master it tells me that the administrator has disabled it(which I did not do).

I noticed yesterday that when I search for something in windows explorer it will bring up the list but if I click on something in the list it always takes me to a different site.

Today I it has disabled my task manger and changed my desk top to black back ground with a message in red reading 'my computer is infected'.

Any help to get rid of this program and issue would be greatly appreciated.

WinPerformance is a nasty that you have picked up. It is a piece of spyware that has crept in. You need a special programme to get rid of it. Go to the following site ;-
