strick9
I'm trying to install the PowerPoint Viewer from the Microsoft web site. I can download it but when I try to install it I get a pop-up message that says I need code from the back of Microsoft Office 2003 CD. I don't have Office installed on my computer. Is there a way I can install this viewer without the key code? If not, is there a non-Microsoft viewer that will do the job? I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.Thank you. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
You shouldn't need any product keys for the Office Viewers - they are free. From where did you download it? Here are the official download sites:PowerPoint Viewer 2003PowerPoint Viewer 2007
strick9
I too thought it was free but the computer wants the key. I downloaded it from the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2003 web site. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Alan2273
I have no use for Power Point but out of interest I downloaded it from Pats link and installed it and it did not ask me for a key, it just asked me to accept an agreement and then installed.I tried 2003 & 2007, neither asked me for a key during the install. There is a huge difference in the size of the two files, 2003 is 1.9 mb, 2007 is 35.4mb. strick9
I was never able to install PowerPoint Viewer so I installed OpenOffice. It opens .pps files nicely. It seems to me that Microsoft is so afraid that someone will copy their software illegally that they are making it more difficult to use. They seem unaware that users have alternatives.
