SteveV Posted December 30, 2007 Report Share Posted December 30, 2007 Win XP Pro HP machine. When trying to shut down, machine goes through the proces and then restarts. Exactly the same as when I select Restart.Have tried the WIN 98 posted suggestion - Regedit (Winlogon - Power down after shutdown = 1).Restarted and then tried it again, still the same results, instead of shutdown, it restarts. SteveV Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Share Posted December 31, 2007 The shutdown problem has been "on-going" for quite a while. Just been living with it and finally tried to do something about it. Per HP, machine is no longer under warranty adn therefore they can't help we unless I use the Pay for Service plan ($25.00).
