The majority of people who criticise Vista are either people who have tried to upgrade from XP on unsuitable equipment or people who have never used it and unjustly criticise in tune with the vocal minority.If you have a new computer and peripherals compatible with Vista - you will not experience problems. What you will experience is a faster system, improved security and a better interface. I am speaking from personal experience with 2 Vista computers - not second hand opinion or biased media reports.On the subject of RAM - my first Vista duo core computer had 4 GB installed - but Vista would only access 3.2 GB. My current quad core computer has 2 GB of RAM plus a 4 GB USB flash drive which serves as the ready boost. The current machine is much faster than the previous one despite having less RAM - but this may be more to do with the faster processor and the ready boost I now use.
