kakabel Posted February 5, 2008 Report Share Posted February 5, 2008 I have not been able to figure out why despite intense searching, but recently every image that I paste from the clipboard has a black background? I checked my alternate computer and not so - everything there works fine, white on white, animations work, so it has to be a setting issue somehow, but I just can't figure it out? Help please. What's the difference between the two systems?Also, if the trouble started recently, have you tried a System Restore to a time before it started? Both of my desk top computers carry the same system. I cannot do a system restore to any time before it started on the one that is the problem, and I don't know that I could pin that point in time down exactly. About three months ago my computer "crashed" - would not open Windows period, and I had an IT analyst come to my home as I was in a panic due to the fact that while I had everything saved, I was in the middle of Photoshop project for my job that had a deadline attached to it, and which if I lost would have been more than a major disaster. I tried system restore but it did not work. He was able to save my files even though I had to reinstall all of my programmes, but there is now no way for me to get to a point before that time. Re what am I pasting into? - It could be a Power Point slide, or just simple email. Frequently I will go onto a Free clipart site if I am in a hurry and find an image or a small animation where in the past I have been able to right click. copy and paste into anything that I wanted, email, an empty slide, just about anything and have it transport exactly as on the site, now I can still do it on computer No. 2, but not on the problem computer. Since I use my computer primarily for graphic design project and projects involved with my art, I am probably going to switch to a Mac sooner or later, but for now I need the clipboard to work. Scarecrow Man Posted February 5, 2008 Report Share Posted February 5, 2008 Try hosting the image with a black background on a free hosting site such as http://imageshack.us and load the image up on another computer. It is possible it has something to do with your computers display.Surely if I host the image though I will have to save it in order to upload it, and if I save the image there is no problem. White or transparent backgrounds remind as is, and animations work. It is the copying and pasting that seems to have gone awry. I checked the display and all seems to be in order. I am going to attempt copying the clipboard files from the system 32 folder on the "good" computer to the one that is giving me problems and see what happens. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted February 6, 2008 Report Share Posted February 6, 2008 To be honest, I have never tried to paste an image into anything - Photoshop, Powerpoint, E-mail, etc. I always 'Insert' images from a saved location.What happens if you use this "normal" method?
