Deleted music . . . Not deleted

Hello to all, this is my first time here.

Alright here's my problem. I deleted a folder which contained music. However, in my Windows Media Player library the songs are still show up. Of course you can't play them because they've been deleted. I just want to get rid of them they're there for no reason. Also, when I try to add new music to my library, nothing happens. Can anyone help me? PLEASE?

You could try this free program, most of us on here use it. After download and installation, visit the sites where you need to log on and do so. Then click on the C Cleaner and click on Options/Cookies. Then drag all the cookies from those sites from right to left. This means that in future you will not delete those cookies. Then click onto cleaner and allow it to run. Next click onto Registry/Scan for issues. Click onto Fix selected issues. You will be offered a chance to back up the changes. Do so. This may hopefully clear the registry of these items. If not, come back and someone may offer an alternative solution. C Cleaner is a well liked and trusted program on this forum. This is the lite version. When eventually the program offers an update, download this version, otherwise if you download the standard version you will have to be careful when you go through the install operation, to untick the dreaded Yahoo Tool bar.

I am not sure about the more recent WMPs but in the one I have (steam driven) you get rid of what you are trying to get rid of through WMP itself.

Fire it up and look at the last couple of items in the block on the left hand side of its window. Bring up the list of music and then I think it is a right click followed by 'delete'.

It is a bit confusing, because I think it lists them as deleted, which of course they are, but what are still there are the "short cuts" to where they were.
