Complete system backup

I recently had a hard drive crash on my laptop.

Although all of the data was backed up it has been a lengthy job to put all programs and settings back onto the PC from our companies standard build.

I am considering my options in case this should happen again and wondered if there was a better way than the ones we have considered.

they are

1. Mojopac this isn't available for Vista yet - not an immediate issue as I am on XP Sp2
   
2. or Norton Ghost (12) this seems to have a disadvantage when recovering - that the windows drivers are (obviously) for the backed up PC [the new PC might well be a different specification]
   

Are there other alternatives ?

Can Norton Ghost do what I want ?

I take it that you mean Acronis True Image 11 and not Migrate Easy 7.0?

One quick question does this software overcome the issues with drivers were the system to be restored to a different specification PC?

I don't know the method of backup you have in mind; usually it's one backup per PC (or one backup per Windows system). I don't know of any backup method where you can restore the backed-up data to another PC (or Windows system). Acronis True Image cannot do that (restore to a system with different specs).
