pavlick Posted February 26, 2008 Report Share Posted February 26, 2008 Hello, I am having a problem with my video card and just wondering to see if maybe anybody else has had a similar problem, or maybe someone knows how to fix this.Usually everything is fine if I am just using windows and my room is chilly but a few minutes after playing HL 2 or when my heater heats my room up, I get a scrambled screen. Is this something that "suddenly" started, or did it always happen?Depending on your answer, can you try to do a System Restore to a point before the problem started? Or can you try to install the latest driver for your device?im now sure that its a hardware problem, i've tried to fix this with drivers on a fresh install and its all the same! so i took my video card and cleaned the heatsink off of any dust and put it back, it was working a bit worse! so i tried to move it around in the agp slot, bending a bit toward the left and the right, and when i push it to the right, the problem disappears, so i guess its just the agp slot then :( u wouldn't know of any way to fix THAT problem, would you? i guess buying a new motherboard? but im a student and i dont have the $100 to spend at the moment Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boris Posted February 28, 2008 Report Share Posted February 28, 2008 If "bending" the card affects things, you could try the card in another PC - if it gives the same problems then the card is the faulty item rather than the AGP slot.
