Using Logon Script

Hi,

We are using logon scripts for our Windows XP accounts to force users (employees) to run an exe on some specific days - say, for example, a timesheet application when they do not enter timesheets for the previous day.

We are able to call the exe we need from logon script but at the same time the system is logging the user in (while our applciation is open) and the user is able to continue with his normal work, minimizing the application window that we popped up in logon script.

Is there a way where we can prevent windows from logging in completely until the user exits our application (i.e, the user must not see 'start' button, status bar, other icons etc. until the user exits our applicaiton).

I dont think it will take you too long after looking at the following software to work out a system of employee control.

It is not always a good idea to go over the top as far as technology is concerned. Think backwards and lateraly towards "Man Management Techniques"

If there is a failure of employees to fill out the previous days worksheet, effectively there is a breakdown in liason between employee and employer.

Somewhere in the chain there is poor management. You may solve the present problem by means of computer and computer software, there may arise problems in the future where this will not be a possible option. Try to tighten up employee lethargy firstly with good man management.

USB flash drives are cheap. I will not spoil your learning curve, or the possibility of you honing your management skills by explaning how this can be done.

I will say that it can, and has been achieved.
