manxxutd Posted March 7, 2008 Report Share Posted March 7, 2008 I had a windows XP, then my friend at work gave me a brand new Vista upgrading disk. I upgraded it, but i don't like it. I have not read any of them other than a quick glance, but I feel sure that you need an XP installation disc. When i click that, something pops up that says...This Program is Blocked due to compatability issuesCheck online to see if solutions are available from the Microsoft Website. if solutions are found, windows will automatically display a website that lists steps you can take.Program: Windows SetupPublisher: MicrosoftLocation: (I dont want to say incase someone can do somthing with it)Setup cannot continue because the version of windows on your computer is newr than the version of the CD.Warning: If you decide to delet the newr version of windows that is currently installed on your computer, the files and settiongs cannot be recoveredthere are no solutions online. By far the vast majority of MS customers are perfectly happy. I know that I am completely satisfied with XP. The fact that manxxutd has tried Vista and now wants to revert to XP is a matter of personal taste, and he made the mistake of doing so without having a full back up on a separate drive so that he could reverse the procedure. If I want to experiment, I have a back up to hand.
