619 A connection to the remote computer...

Recommended Posts

When trying to connect to the internet using a wireless connection I am getting the error

619 - A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed.

I am getting this error for the last 4 days and I have not changed any firewall settings on my computer. The system was running fine and suddenly it was disconnected. When trying to reconnect I started getting this error.

Please help.

Thank you,

Sudipto

Hi there, and welcome.

As you have not mentioned your operating system it may well be a lot quicker in the first instance for you to go HERE . Have a look through the various operating systems listed and see if there is a fix for your personal system.

If after applying any of the knowledge gleaned, you are no further forward, come back here and explain exactly what you have tried to do using the information offered, and then someone here will be able to help.

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I had already googled on this topic and have tried to query the modem. Everything looks good. When I start the mobile connect application then it asks for the PIN. When I enter the correct PIN it accepts it and shows the connect button. When I click the connect button then it shows this error.

Since the mobile application is verifying the PIN correctly so I assume that the device is working fine.

My OS is Windows XP and I have installed the latest patched about 15 days back.

Please let me know if you have any idea about how I can resolve the problem.

Thanks once again!

Best Regards,

Sudipto

Hi,

I am not trying to connect my mobile telephone to my computer. But I am trying to connect to the internet using a broadband connection using a SIM card and a Modem provided by the service provider. I hope I am clear now.

Hello :D

Are you saying that you are trying to connect your mobile telephone to your computer?

Hallo again.

Just a quick thought from me before I go and walk the dog and other duties.

How about doing a System Restore to about a week back and seeing if it cures the problem (you said this problem has only been with you for 4 days)

You might be able to narrow down whether it is computer related or the peripherals in this way.

As I say, - only a quick thought. After noon I only have quick thoughts, nothing truly inspirational, just quick.

(I bet you're gonna come back and say that you have already tried a System Restore. :( :( :( )

Hi,

I haven't tries doing a system restore and I don't know how to do that. Will search for how I can do that. In the mean while if you have any pointers on how to do a system restore it would be nice.

Just caught me before I go out.

Basically with System Restore you can reset your computer to a time earlier when hopefully all was working well. ( A bit like time travel - backwards)

I've saved a guide which I suggest you have a good read through before you start. After reading it you will soon be travelling back and forth in time like a pro. B)

Click here: *** SYSTEM RESTORE GUIDE ***

Let's hope that it could well be a cure for your present problem.

Thank you for your help.

Yesterday I did a system restore and it did not change anything. That confirmed no issues with my laptop.

Then I called up my land lady who takes care of the internet connection and found out that she did not pay the bill !!!!!!!!! Can you imagine this... now when she has paid the money its working fine :)
