I have a problem to access to one site only . IP_address of this site is 10.x.x.x . In "ipconfig" default gateway is 172.17.4.1 , but when I try to access to needed site , in "route print" appears "wrong" gateway 172.17.6.91 ( or rarely 172.17.6.90 ) and by ping:

C:\>tracert 10.192.18.73 and 1 172.17.6.90 reports: Destination host unreachable.

C:\>ping 10.192.18.73

Pinging 10.192.18.73 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 172.17.6.90: Destination host unreachable.

Reply from 172.17.6.90: Destination host unreachable.

Reply from 172.17.6.90: Destination host unreachable.

Reply from 172.17.6.90: Destination host unreachable.

Ping statistics for 10.192.18.73:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

I have checked registry and I don't found there "wrong" value of gateway . There is DHCP default gateway in registry only:172.17.4.1.

I need help to clear "wrong" gateway.

Whether that gateway is wrong depends on your subnet mask. Please post your netmask. If it's 255.255.0.0, your gateway could be valid. If it's something other than 255.255.255.0, it could also be valid. Why do you have to get to a 10.x.x.x network? 10.0.0.0 through 10.255.255.255 is reserved for private use and should not be advertised or used on the Internet.

10.x.x.x is not a resolvable address.

As Ted says above,

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255

172.16.0.0 – 172.31.255.255

192.168.0.0 – 192.168.255.255

are all private networks and cannot be used on the Internet. If you have a URL ( www.windowsforum.org ) for this website, perhaps we could assist you in finding the IP address of this website.
