Force drop down menu in XP Quick launch tool bar

Recommended Posts

So links and desktop magically have dropdown menus for folders in them yet everything else does not, I have about 20 shortcuts I use to Unreal tournament 04 editing(YT page of various crappy mod prototypes)

Anyway its becoming annoying to open up 10 windows when i only need 2, I would really like to force the toolbars to go into dropdown mode other than open by default, how can I do this?

I have found if I build folders and shortcuts I can have some dropdown menus but frankly...I want all folders and shortcut to folders to do this.

Any idea how to do this - are there any utilities that will give me the dropdowns in the XP taskbar?

Thanks for any help.

Can you specify what exactly you mean by drop down menus? Maybe take a screen shot of what you're talking about.

It's called "Group Similar Taskbar buttons" in the Taskbar properties.

You can try:

start > run > regedit

Under:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]

create an new REG_DWORD value named: TaskbarGroupSize and give it a value of 2.

Here's an article on the tweak above: http://tech.monstersandcritics.com/feature...uttons_in_Vista

Heres one I made forcing a quick launch folder I made into the corner by the task bar,as you can see all the folders within become drop down menus, shortcuts of folders act as normal shortcuts, if I do not have this forced to the side it would not use the folders as drop down menus but as shortcuts.

I want all folders to be drop down menus.

Scarecrow Man

Have not had a chance to try it I will soon tho.
