Jacob
The printer seems to jerk, grind and makes a terrible loud noise as the ink dispersion thing slides side to side, the end result is ink blotches and illegible text!!I re installed the drivers and still no joy.I recently did a virus check and the appears to have been an infection in the printer soft ware, the report is bellow. AlanHo
My guess is that there is a mechanical problem with the printer. My old Epson 750 starting making loud rasping and juddering noises. There was a narrow toothed belt moving the inkjet carriage which was worn and the teeth on the belt were jumping on the drive pulley.A repair estimate was more than a new printer so it became land fill. Irene
I would agree with AlanHo, it sounds as if there is a mechanical failure. How old is the printer?

Jacob
Well you could be right about it being a part fault, though I have not had it for more than 2 years and it doesn't get over used, I will have a look to see if there is anything obviously wrong.I found that link for Printer Status Monitor and tried to do a on line diagnostic but the down load went on for so long that after a while I just took it to mean it wasn't working, It doesn't give any indication as to it's progress?? Irene
If you're not able to diagnose the problem yourself, Epson have centres where you can take it to be assessed. Just enter your post code and it will tell you where the nearest location is to you.According to the link, you can get free advice, but son't assume its all free. Ask them before they do any work on it. I think you may need your receipt.EPSON EXPRESS CENTRES
