Pradyut Ganguly Posted April 10, 2008 Report Share Posted April 10, 2008 Can anybody help me to solve the following problem?When I'm trying to use Search from main menu, sometime it starts searching after a long time or sometimes it do not do anything, in the second event if I close the search window by clicking on X, all open windows Explorer window (if any) get closed and the desktop get as if refreshed including the start menu bar.Pradyut Ganguly Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Scarecrow Man Posted April 10, 2008 Report Share Posted April 10, 2008 It sounds like your files are corrupted. You should run the System File checker. You can do this by going to:start > run > sfc /scannowYou will need your original XP CD for this process to complete. You may also want to make sure your index service is running by going to:start > run > services.mscStop and restart the Indexing Service if it's already running.
