steve54willy
Anyone out there in techno land have any ideas about getting 1236USB+Ultima2000 scanner to work on Vista. It worked well on XP but the current software/ drivers are not compatable with Vista. Can't believe that Windows can 'improve' thier stuff and leave the scrap scanners to be left as useless. ANY IDEAS ??
Boris
Now that Artec no longer produce scanners they seem to have no interest in producing new drivers for them for Vista. Here is everything that they do offer for legacy items :-http://www.artec.com.tw/Service_e/nl/home/Old_drivers.htm
Scarecrow Man
Can't believe that Windows can 'improve' thier stuff and leave the scrap scanners to be left as useless.Unfortunately it is not the job of Microsoft to update drivers. This is up to the manufacturer of the hardware. If they decide to no longer support an item or do not wish to support an OS like Vista or Macintosh as an example, then you - the consumer are SOL. Unfortunately short of writing your own driver program, or finding a compatible 3rd party application to do the job for you, there is nothing you can do.
