Scarthy © ® ™
No I haven't heard of this before??? Are you thinking it's a scam of some sort???Why didn't the UK office phone? Have you had any contact with Micro$oft of late which they could be contacting you about??? If not then I would treat this very suspiciously......Also have you EVER given M$ your phone number?? I never fill mine in with anything cos it's X-Directory ! :P ...and they sell your details off. (ever seen the BT discs on the Bootsales/ Comp fairs???) Craig
I have given my number to MS when ordering free preview / post release software online, but have had no phone call.Seems strange that they would be calling from Amsterdam when we have a MS dept. here in Cirencester!Craig. mark2
Could it possibly be a wind up from a friend? If not a windup scam springs to mind but where would they have your phone no from ?
madboy33
i cant remember, when you Activate XP do you give your phone number out?I cant remember that oneCould it be that i installed XP, activated it and then did a complete format 2 weeks later and activated it again?madboy33
Craig
I would say it has nothing to do with the XP activation, it is done over a 'secure' connection to MS.
mark2
Did you have to speak to anyone when you activated? Did you register your copy of XP?
