dual monitor trouble

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am having an issue with my dual monitor setup on my windows xp machine. I have 2 samsung widescreen monitors, which I have had for 6 months now and they have been working fine. The other night, I noticed that one of my desktops seems zoomed in. When both monitors (which are the same) are set to the same resolution (1680x1050), the background image on the trouble monitor is larger, and I am able to move the desktop around on it by putting the mouse to one side of the screen. This is very annoying and I would love to just have the monitors have the same resolution. I have replaced my ati driver and the drivers for the monitors as well, and nothing does the trick. I have a feeling that this is just a setting somewhere in windows that needs to get fixed, but I have no idea what that might be.

I think this all started when I made an image on the internet my desktop background (right-click->set as my desktop background).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
