HockeyChick
HelloI am using a Dell Dimension 3000 with WinXp Home EditionI recently installed BootXp v2,50 which is a start up logo changer.... I'm now realizing that was a very stupid thing to do...I just tried to Install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929) through Windows Update and got the following Error Code 0x8007F0CC which I now know was caused by the editing of my boot screen..I'm thinking I may need to edit my boot.ini file but am not sure how to get it it back to it's default...This is what my Boot.INI File reads as of now..[boot loader]timeout=3default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /KERNEL=LOGOOS.EXE(Backup Line)=(Backup Line)(Backup Line)=(Backup Line)(Backup Line) I am hoping to receive a successful solution to this....Thanx in advance for any help I receive.. Alan2273
The only difference between yours and mine is the timeout is set to 30, not 3 ( but that may have been a typo )The part KERNEL=LOGOOS.EXE, I am assuming is to do with Dell and this part, (Backup Line)=(Backup Line)(Backup Line)=(Backup Line)(Backup Line)I have not seen before.Open the boot INI file and click check all boot paths, if no fault shows up your problem is else where. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Why not uninstall that strange application; hopefully it will restore your original boot.ini file. If not, try a System Restore to a date before you installed it.
