Windows Audio Output to Input

I think we all know Fraps: a program which allows you to record you in-game screen as a video.

Fraps actually is very crappy and so i have been looking for an alternate program: ZD Soft Game Recorder

This application seems perfectly fit for recording in-game screen.

But i have a problem: i cant seem to record my sound...

So i was wondering: is there an application which "converts" the windows audio output [the sound which comes out your speakers] to audio input [as a microphone]?

I know it is possible to plug in a Audio plug male-to-male cable in the front-out to line-in, but i wont be able of hearing my sound anymore, right?

Is there a way to use the male-to-male audio plug cable to change my audio output to input, AND let sound come out of my speakers? [my speakers:

Never connect the output of an amplifier to its own input without knowing exactly what you are doing.

There is a danger of producing runaway feedback through the system. I've not seen what it might do on a computer but on an analogue amplifier you can easily end up with it burning out (literally)

Have a look at something like Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ - that might do what you want.

can it record any sound you hear when your listening music in windows,,

or:

can it record every bit of sound which comes out of my speakers, via its software? [so: without microphone.]

Audacity can record all sound that passes through your computer (depending on the input selected).

When you use it, make sure you have all noise making software disabled e.g. auto email checkers, etc.

Give it a go - it's free. You may need a plugin if you want to do MP3 files but, that's free as well.

Also, have a look at Jet Audio - that might be more suitable for you http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/ Make sure you download the free version.

and i tried JetAudio, but that program is pure unwanted software, since it cant do what i want...

what really bothered me was the automatically installed mediaplayer toolbar, which messed up my desktop [which has a lot of icons on it]

i will try Audicity soon

yesterday i tried to reinstall my webcam, so the microphone [built-in] works properly, and it did, but today it doesnt anymore :S

i think im going to buy a new webcam [the Trust WB-5600R], because my current webcam is very old and crappy ;)

Sorry that jetaudio installed something you didn't want. I've used it for a long time and it's never done anything like that to me.

What I tend to do is use the record facility of jetaudio and the processing of part of Audacity - specifically to convert formats, say to MP3.

i also tried audacity, but also that program doesnt do what i want :/
