alan9333 Posted May 20, 2008 Report Share Posted May 20, 2008 My P.C refused to boot and I had to perform a repair installation, now when I log on I get the message "The procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll." with the result that my P.C won't update and I can't get internet explorer to work though Firefox works fine but Windows won't let me use Firefox to update. Rick1 Posted May 20, 2008 Report Share Posted May 20, 2008 I agree it's probably sp2. Remove all remnants of SP2 through add/remove programs and Windows XP Hotfix, and clean out all registry entries. You can also - depending on your connection speed - download the whole thing from here (this is very much larger than the Microsoft Update download!).
