djflair1 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Share Posted May 26, 2008 Hi dont know if anyone can help i bought a copy of xp pro unfortunately the packaging got lost as were clearing everything out i now have the disc and a manual but not the code is there anyway i can get it from the disc otherwise this has been a pretty expensive lesson in keeping things safe! (Control Panel [Category View] > Performance & Maintenance > System Properties. It's just a line of capital letters & numbers with some hyphens. If you can't install it without the product key because it's a completely clean installation, I think your best bet is to go back to the retailer with the receipt and any packaging you can find & see if they can get it from their records or from Microsoft.
