Serious problem - told all .exe files to open in word pad

Recommended Posts

Ok then im not really sure how this happened. I tryed to open a file from bit torrent and it asked me what to open it in and as i thought it was a KEY i opened it in word pad. Turns out it was an .exe file and now all .exe files are trying to open in owrd pad.

I cant open anything its totaly screwed everything up and i cant find a way to fix this. Surely there is?

Using vista home premium 64bit btw.

If you can navigate to the list of your .exe files..

Just highlight one of them and right-click.

Select the option ~ Open with ~ Choose Program ~ put a tick in the always open this type of file ~ then select Excel, then just press OK.

It should now work each time. :)

Not sure i follow, i tryed using all them it never worked. Even opening a program with its self. But i managed to fix it. Got a friend to make a hotfix for it and send it to me thro msn . Which was dificult as msn refuses to let my download something withouti a virus checker and seens as it cant open my virus scan i had to some how trick it into thinking some random file was and it came up with an error message and downloaded anyway lol.

Thank the lord its fixed :)

God damn stupid that all the fixs for this involve me opening programs which i cant do!
