eyeball Posted June 9, 2008 Report Share Posted June 9, 2008 i have vista oprating system dual boot with xp,they where working fine ,recently i have tried to shrink one partion using vista shrink tool but i found it useless,then i tried GParted shrink tool.i figured out that xp dualboot could not started because the following file is missing or corrupt:<windows root>system32\hal.dll.please re-install a copy of the above file.i tried to search this at microsoft knowledge base but non of theose could help me.anyone can help me recover this file as i have important file in windows xp Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
