danezeq Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 I have 80gb hd with 4 partitions.1. 8GB for WIN XP2. 56GB for WIN VISTA3. 4GB for UBUNTU (LINUX)4. around 500MB for swap (i dont sute what is it, but it made by ubuntu)The issue is that ican't expand the xp's partition. i can do it for the other partitions but not for the 8GB partition.i tried do it with some apps like partition magic 8, Paragon Partition manager etc..help! Scarecrow Man Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 This may be because the partition you are trying to merge is beyond another partition already in place.My suggestion is to move the partition into that free space, creating free space beside the XP partition and not beside the VISTA partition.I also suggest GParted vs any other partitioning software. Tanmaya Posted July 18, 2008 Report Share Posted July 18, 2008 Hi,As per my opinion, expanding the partition will not work in your case, as you are trying to expand your System Partition [8 GB], Operating System will not allow you to modify its own land of stand.So you will need to reconfigure your HDD as per your new requirements or go with existing Setup. ...
