Windows installation headaches

Well I have two windows CDs one from spain XP3, and an american SP3. They were both working till today. I already downloaded XP english but there are a few problems.

1) I can only boot from safe mode.

2) The scrolling is extremely slow and repaints instead of scrolling (outside of safe mode it does this) (i'm running it on an HDTV)

3) When I installed it on my 80GB drive it recognized one partrition as 3GB and won't recognize the other 70GB of my drive, so I can't have any space on my computer. When I installed windows, it said

3GB partrition

70GB unknown partrition (I could not pick the 70GB one)

4) My monitor is widescreen and I can't get a widescreen resolution.

Tried a clean boot from each CD, here are the results:

American SP3:

Gets at "setup is starting windows" then hangs.

Spain SP3:

Gets past "setup is starting windows" gets to a blank black screen with one white blinking small line at the top left corner and hangs.

Tried installing linux just to format the drives and get rid of everything. It didn't boot.

Tried reseting bios. Didn't work.

Tried them without harddrives. Didn't work.

Tried reformating through windows in safe mode. Couldn't work.

Running

80GB maxtor drive

DVDr player, sony.

2GB of ram

ASRock alivenf6p vsta am2 mobo

Am2 2.1 cpu

600 watt rosewill PSU.

The thing is, both CDs worked yesterday and would install completely, but now neither one will. They both hang.

Try a low level format of the hard drive. As it's a Maxtor drive, you can find the appropriate software on the Seagate web site http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgne...mp;locale=en-GB

You can also check the integrity of the drive as well with Seatools (on the same site). Maxblast is useful as well (also from the same site) http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/
