Go to Control Panel, then to Add/Remove programmes; look for ESET Security (or NOD32) then uninstall it by clicking Remove. If that doesn't solve the problem come back to the forum. harshad kapley Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 6, 2008 thanks for the reply....hello sir,i mot able to log in into XP ... it restarting continiously... when i try to press F8 it shows me safe mode ,safe mode with command prompt....etc option ... even i tried those options but still it again restarting... when i consult vendor he said to me that system files might be corrupt... & data can be lost....i have arounf 20-30 GB data on to it...right now i have install vista version on another drive using partition magic & recovering my data ... its really huge data of mine... sir is there any option so that i can remove any antivirus of XP from windows vista...or files name their directory path so that i will remove it manually...thanking you!!!!! Dencandy Posted July 7, 2008 Report Share Posted July 7, 2008 If you now have Vista installed on another drive and it's running OK you can install your anti-virus programme alongside it (NOD32 is regarded by many users as better than Norton). Then use that anti-virus to clean up the other drives by selecting them from the scan menu.But in my opinion rather than attempt to repair XP it is better is to copy all your data to CDs or DVDs, then re-format the drive that had the corrupt version of XP on it as it is probably damaged beyond recovery. You can then scan your CDs with recovered data on for viruses and copy them back to your hard disk if they are OK.In future do regular back-ups of your important data.
