Flash Player Problems

Good Morning,

I've been having Flash Player problems for about a week now. No apparent reason why that I can see. I logged into some aircraft videos on you tube one day and it told me to get the latest version. When I tried from the Adobe site to get the V9.0 it failed to install.

I've spent the last 3 days fighting this issue. DELL couldn't do anything with it either, so they punted...Sent me to my ISP bellsouth and they recommended I use Mozilla Firefox because it will work there. I did, and it does...But I'd rather use IE SP3 which I have.

I've tried all the Adobe troubleshooting fixes but nothing works. I keep getting the same error: Failed to Install please see http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166

Got any takers on this? BTW, we've even done the regedit fixes as well, no go...I haven't the foggiest idea where to go from here!

Have you tried uninstalling (from Add & Remove Programs), rebooting, then install again? :)

Also, try their uninstaller.. HERE

Yes we did that in the early going, we even returned IE 7 to it's original default settings. Same problem..

Strange that it would work with Firefox, and not with IE 7 Service pack 2 or 3 I'd be ticked pink if I could figure out why

Just for the sake of saving time and repetition, here is the link with all of Adobe's fixes...I've scoured this whole page, used mt DELL techs, Nobody has a solution...! I even uninstalled IE 7 and reinstalled it, nothing...zippo...

The reason Firefox works, but IE does not is because Firefox is a plug-in and IE uses an active-x control. They are totally separate versions.

That's the only thing I've heard that makes sense yet..I'll give give it a shot...Right about the Active X..

I just dowloaded the latest version. Got the same problem. Went to you tube to check it out, it still prompting me to get the latest version of Flash Player. Checked in my registry the V10. is in there.

My bro-in-law told me yesterday that about 2 weeks ago Microsoft came out with some more of those auto updates, and ever since then people have been having problems with things. Thats about when this started happening too.

I suggest that you completely uninstall all Flash Player versions, then try a fresh install.

• download the uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/d...tml#uninstaller
  
• close all browsers
  
• run the uninstaller
  
• open IE, go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and install it again
