colrich Posted July 26, 2008 Report Share Posted July 26, 2008 I'm using Windows Mail/Vista and since inception it will not send a prepared message unless I close, and then re-open, the Windows Mail programme- after which it sends fine. Surely it shouldn't be necessary to close and reopen the programme to get a message to send? All the settings seem ok- otherwise I suppose it wouldn't send at all. Dencandy Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 A solution that sometimes works in these situations is to uninstall and delete all the components of the problem program; then run CCleaner in secure delete mode to get rid of all the dross; then run the registry part of CCleaner to delete the left-over registry entries. Finally, download a fresh version of Live Mail and install that. The whole process will only take a few minutes.Another possibility to consider is that your firewall may be restricting the send command.I've just remembered that I used to have this exact problem with sending emails in Outlook Express (using Windows XP) but only after I had used Internet Explorer. If I dealt with my email first, then used IE, I had no problems. I never found the reason for this & just had to remember to check my email first.
