Panarchy Posted July 30, 2008 Report Share Posted July 30, 2008 Hello!Needed to make an extra partition so I can share stuff between HFS+ & NTFS.Anything downward of 35GB and upward of 16GB will be sufficient.Any ideas?I'm using Acronis Disk Director 10, and I created one (8GB) changed cluster size to 64KB, then was about to increase size to 32GB, but it said it needed to change cluster size to 16KB...What should I do?Please tell me, as I'm a little confused!Thanks in advance for any suggestions,Panarchy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted July 30, 2008 Report Share Posted July 30, 2008 If you plan to mainly have very large files on the partition, then 64KB clusters are fine. (I actually didn't know that FAT32 supports 64KB clusters; I have only seen it on NTFS.)If it is in fact supported, then your software may have troubles (doing it in one go). If your partition is empty, try to expand it to 32GB, and let it decided the cluster size. Then later change the cluster size.P.S. The limit is the number of clusters; so the more (smaller) clusters you have, them smaller your partition limit is going to be. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
