Redhat
IMO the official Sun version is better, anything 'blessed' with Microsoft's touch normally goes down the pan pretty sharpish.http://java.sun.com
Guest Nellie2
Hmmm hasn't made any difference. How do I find out what version of Java and virtual machine that I have already.{I'll have a fresh look at this tomorrow.........been trying out a punch recipie tonight and it is a bit potent!! :) }
bvw
Whilst I respect your opinions highly Redhat, I found the M$ version better and discarded the Sun version. Only my findings :)

Agent Smith
Nellie, If you want to install the TRUE PROPER version of java, and not the m$ messed about with version, then you need the Sun download from Click HereThis is the acceptance page for Sun J2SE 1.4.2It's the one I would use.Mr. M. Agent Smith
Ok Nellie. I've had a check and it seems the site you wish to view is written using the M$ version of java. So you will need to get the virtual machine install after all.M$ no longer supply this as a direct download, due to them losing a court battle (another one :o :P :D ) with Sun, but you can download it from bvw's link. To make it easier here is the one I just got "Right click here and save as"Install this, and before restarting your machine untick the Sun java box in IE tools>Internet Options>Advanced. It now works for me.Mr. M. Agent Smith
Just as an afterthought. The site you are trying to view works perfectly in Opera using the Sun java download. ;) Bloody M$  Mr. M.
