laxfiend
i'm trying to reinstall windows without the cd and everything is cool until about half way through the "copying installation files" step. a message comes up saying that the file C:\$WIN NT$.~LS\I386\mstask.ini is missing and that i need to contact my system administrator. there is a retry option which i tried with no success and now i'm not sure whether i should skip the file or if it's important for something. should i try downloading it from somewhere? or should i just skip it? what is the file for? why is it missing? lol i'm so confused. please help me out. Scarecrow Man
Are you installing from a genuine Windows CD or are you using a recovery disc? There may be a recovery partition you need to boot from in order to access this file.
